Dart River Toki Necklace
70mm High
22mm Wide
12mm Deep
Once used as a tool by tangata whenua, the toki shape is now considered to symbolise strength, courage and determination. However, this said, it’s my belief that the wearer should cast their own intentions on the taonga based on their needs. All these treasures are a source of peace, mana and connection that uplift your mauri. They are also amazing sensory tools to feel or hold in tough times. This particular piece has been carved out of authentic Aotearoa kōhatu from the dart river that’s yet to be identified. It is a beautiful light green (similar to Inanga pounamu) with stunning swirls of lighter and darker tones. It is bound with a sterling silver link to a 4 plait silver grey cord.
All taonga I carve comes with a 100% organic cotton bag to keep it safe when not wearing.
*Note: This pounamu is authentic Aotearoa kōhatu sourced from the Dart River.
